Let the Migration Begin

A Family of Tundra Swans
The Spring Migration of birds has begun in Southern Ontario, and it is my first one as an amateur bird photographer.  I hope to get some great photos this weekend, as the weather is supposed to be really nice.  The photo above was taken in Lake Ontario on March 7th on an unseasonably warm winter afternoon.  The same day I saw a few more birds that made the trip north including grackles and red-winged blackbirds.

On a side note, I recently watched a fantastic movie about birding called "The Big Year"  I highly recommend it to anyone interested in birding, as it portrays the hobby well and is an interesting watch even if you aren't into birds!
