The Ducks of Winter

Male Long Tailed Duck
This weekend, my friend and I set out on yet another adventure to capture the winter wildlife in Ontario.  With a tip from our favourite book, Birds of Ontario, We traveled to Niagara-on-the-lake to get a good view of the Niagara River.  To our delite, it was full of winter waterfowl.  We saw Long-Tailed Ducks, White Winged Scoters, Pied Billed Greibes, and plenty of Red Breasted Mergansers.

To anybody looking to get into the hobby, (or already in it:)  I would highly suggest the book below.  It is very well illustrated and informative.  It contains maps of known bird locations, this has come in very handy!

My favourite Bird Book!
